Commissioned Portraits can on occasions be difficult, particularly when the Client doesn’t differentiate between Photography and an Artist Rendering, (Oil Portrait on Canvas).

I consider my style of painting to be Photorealism, but I never place myself in competition with the Camera which is designed to record exactly what it is focused on.

Example (a) above is the Photograph supplied to me by my client and example (b) is the Completed Oil Portrait. There is clearly a difference between the two, yet the painting bears a striking resemblance to the photograph. That is what you can expect of me with each Commissioned Portrait. The difference between example (a) and (b) is in part why I like to refer to the finished painting as the Artist Rendering.
